An Opelousas man has been arrested, accused of shooting a person at a family gathering over the weekend.
Police say that on February 02, 2019 at around 10:30 p.m. officers were called out to investigate a disturbance in the 700 blk of N. Lombard St.
The disturbance occurred at a private family gathering.
At some point during the gathering, a disturbance occurred between attendees. At some point during the altercation, 42-year-old Ronal Patin allegedly produced a handgun and allegedly fired at one of the other attendees.
That person was hit once in the chest.

Police says the injuries were not life threating and the victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
Patin was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons and dangerous instrumentalities.
