Teen wanted in Port Barre theft investigation, property recovered

The Port Barre Police Department is looking for a local teenager in connection with a rash of burglaries in the city.

Police say 17-year-old Jonathan “Red” Joseph is wanted on warrants multiple charges of burglary, trespassing, theft, and possession of stolen property.

On Thursday, September 27, 2018, police executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Bayou Drive. Seized in the search was a truckload of items believed to be stolen in multiple burglaries within the city limits.

Police are now attempting to have stolen items returned to the rightful owners.

The St. Landry Sheriff’s office assisted in the search and seizure and are in possession of a list of the seized items.

Officials ask that if you live outside the corps limits of PB and have been a victim of these thefts, please contact the Sheriff’s office detectives division to see if your property has been recovered.
