The St. Landry Parish School System and the Acadiana Center for the Arts are partnering to integrate art into the daily classroom experience.
Tonight, teachers met with artists and other educators to share ideas and find ways to help students learn core subject material with the help of art.
“We’re developing the whole child. Math, science, social studies, and English are important, but the arts develop not only the mind, the body, and the spirit of the child, but it also enhances the instruction. When you develop a whole child, they’re able to contribute more to our community,” said Superintendent Patrick Jenkins.
