At Beau Chene High School’s game tonight, attendees won’t be hearing music from the marching band.
The school has been searching for a band director for months, so the band won’t be able to perform.
St. Landry Parish Superintendent Patrick Jenkins says a temporary band director is now in place once they start practicing, they’ll start performing soon after.
“We currently have a person identified to start working with the band effective Tuesday after the holiday. He’s been contacted and will report to the school to start that process. However, it’s a temporary fix for now. we are still actively seeking employment for a full-time person. We have several candidates that we will be interviewing very soon,” Jenkins said.
