Acadiana thespians perform Seussical the Musical with Kidz Performing Arts Company

The young thespians of Kidz Performing Arts Company are performing Seussical JR. the musical through June 30.

The company is a performing arts education program that showcases the theatrical talent of children ages 7 to 16. The goal is to give each child an opportunity to perform and cultivate their unique talents and abilities. Kidz Performing Arts Company produces full-length Broadway musical productions throughout year as well as workshops on various aspects of musical theatre.

The musical will be presented on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and on Sundays at 2 p.m. For more info on performances, click here.

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all the favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.
