Lafayette General is focusing on cancer survivors and celebrating life.
On Friday, the hospital held a party to honor survivors.
Workers say it’s a great time to boost morale for both the patients and the employees.
“It’s very encouraging to our staff to see our patients come back after treatment doing very well and having a new zest on life. It’s also encouraging for the patients because that connection they form with the staff during treatment sometimes is stronger than their own families, so it’s just a morale builder and a very positive thing for everybody involved,” said Craig Ortego, V.P., Oncology Services.
