Lafayette Police hosting annual Police Memorial Service

The Lafayette Police Department will be hosting the annual Police Memorial service Thursday

At 6:00 p.m. police will be at St. Barnabas Church located at 400 Camellia Boulevard for services. A motorcade started at 5:30 p.m. and will travel from the Lafayette Police Department main station located at 900 E. University Ave., and proceed to the church.

From May 12th through May 18th, National Police Week is being celebrated nationwide. The week is dedicated to celebrating and honoring the lives of police officer’s who’ve been killed in the line of duty.

Twelve Law Enforcement Agencies will be represented from the Acadiana region, with 22 Fallen Officers being honored to include the 6 police officers killed in the line of duty from the Lafayette Police Department.
