Festival International is the place for dancing to live music, having fun with friends, and eating some great food.
But for Scott and Peggy Feehan, it means a lot more.

“She was volunteering at the Fais Do Do beverage booth so I went up for a drink and she served me and I kept going back,” says Scott.

The couple met at Festival International in 2001. At the time, Scott was just an avid festival goer and Peggy was a volunteer.

But fate brought them together again one week later.

“I was on my way to Jazz Fest and after the I-10 split I hear someone honking and there’s Peggy and her friends going down the interstate,” said Scott. “We kind of waved and we exchanged numbers on our way to Jazz Fest.”

He’s a Cajun by blood and shes a French Canadian who’s become a Cajun by heart.

“We both like to have fun and talk and go out and go to festivals,” says Peggy. “So that’s one of the first things we realized about one another. It took a couple of years and then we got married.”

That was in 2005. Fast forward 14 years later and they have two kids together. They also work together professionally. He serves as the executive director for Festival and she is the director at CODOFIL.

“We count our anniversary as being festival,” says Scott. So every year we get to celebrate again.”
