April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and local musicians with Catin Collective are helping raise awareness for the cause with a miniature festival at Alexander Books.
The event benefited Hearts of Hope, a nonprofit agency that helps the sexual violence victims in Acadiana.
Hearts of Hope hosts programs to teach people how to recognize the signs of sexual violence.
“It was perfect timing to bring light to an organization in Acadiana that works with support services for the sexually abused,” says Carolina Shauffe with Hearts of Hope.
