A Lafayette family has a new home thanks to hard work and Habitat for Humanity.
The Henry family purchased their home on Georgia Street after putting in the hours to help build it. Wednesday, Habitat for Humanity in Lafayette held a dedication in honor of the family.
This is the second of four homes to be completed at the development on Georgia Street.
Habitat says it does not give houses away. Qualified homebuyers partner with Habitat to help build their homes by putting in more than 300 hours of sweat equity. Then, they purchase their houses with an affordable mortgage financed by Habitat.
These mortgage payments are then recycled to build more homes.
