Barricades are going up along the parade route in Downtown Lafayette on Thursday.

Public Works crews were out Thursday morning starting at 8:00 am placing barricades onto the roadway. Barricades placement will begin at the intersection of Simcoe and Surrey Streets. Placement will continue along the route up until the intersection of Johnston and Vermilion Streets.

Crews will be back out again at 8:00 am on Friday, February 22 to place barricades along the route beginning at Johnston and Vermilion Streets. That placement will end at the intersection of Johnston and N. College Rd. and toward Cajun Field Gate 1.

Motorists can expect delays each day.

The route is 3.9 miles in length and, according to LCG, approximately 5,500 barricades will be used.
