Wednesday, the Lafayette Habitat for Humanity hosted a home dedication in honor of a Lafayette family purchasing their new home.
This is the first of four homes completed at the latest development on Georgia Street.
Community members, volunteers, and donors were at the ceremony honoring the Jean family.
Habitat homebuyers partner with Habitat to help build their homes by putting in more than 300 hours of sweat equity. They then purchase their houses with an affordable mortgage financed by Habitat.
HFH says these mortgage payments are then recycled to build more homes.
