The City of Lafayette is recognizing community members in honor of Arbor Day.
Government organizations dedicated trees to families who help preserve trees and enhance their neighborhoods.
They also recognized Lafayette’s national designation as a Tree City.
“Through hurricanes and storms, we lose a lot of those, so if we don’t replant them, it’s a lost century,” said Gerald Boudreaux, Director of Lafayette Parks and Recreation. “So, we’re proud today to partner with all of the different agencies and be at Thomas Park to kick off Arbor Day celebrations in Lafayette, Louisiana.”
