Free stroke screenings Saturday in Lafayette

The Stroke Center at Lafayette General Medical Center is offering free stroke screenings on December 1 from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

On average, someone suffers a stroke every 40 seconds and is a leading cause of serious, long-term disability in the United States. In past events, the Lafayette General team has caught serious warning signs and prevented a stroke from happening in the near future, according to Patricia Thompson, director of communications, Lafayette General Health.

The screenings will take place at Burdin Riehl Center, 1211 Coolidge Street (2nd Floor) across from Lafayette General. Call (337) 289-7390 to make an appointment.

Fasting is recommended before attending the event but not required. Do not skip taking regular medications before attending.
