The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist hosted the parish Centennial Celebration today.
“Today as a church, our faith community of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, we’re celebrating our diocese centennial,” said the Rev. Chester Arceneaux. “Each parish throughout the diocese was called to celebrate this year the day of their establishment within the life of their faith community in the diocese.”
The event was held in the Cathedral Hall, and celebrated the role the Cathedral has played in the 100 years of the Diocese of Lafayette.
There was live music and food from several local restaurants, including Social, Rusted Rooster, Zea’s, Sainte Marie and iMonelli.
