LCG has announced on street parking for early voting in Lafayette Parish.
Early voting begins on Saturday, Nov. 24 at the office of the Registrar of Voters located at 1010 Lafayette Street in Lafayette.
On-street parking will be reserved for early voters on Lafayette and Convent Streets and will be clearly marked specifically for the purposes of early voting.
- W. Convent St. between Buchanan St. and Lafayette St. (across from First Baptist School)
- Lafayette St. between Convent St. and Barry St. (across from First Baptist School and in front of the Alexandre Mouton House)
These designated parking spots are intended for short-term parking for early voters only and will be clearly marked with signs indicating as such. All other on-street or surface lot parking is subject to normal designations and/or restrictions as marked. These designated parking spots will only be available during early voting Nov. 24 through Dec. 1.
Early voting in Lafayette Parish is held at the office of the Registrar of Voters located at 1010 Lafayette St.in Lafayette. Early voting is from Saturday, Nov. 24 through Saturday, Dec. 1 – except Sunday, Nov. 25 – from 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day.
At the recommendation of engineers, the Buchanan Street Garage was indefinitely closed on Friday, October 12 in the interest of public safety following a structural reassessment. Vehicles will not be permitted in the Buchanan Street Garage until further notice.
Members of the general public who would otherwise park in the Buchanan Street Garage will be redirected to park at the Vermilion Street Parking Garage located at 121 E. Vermilion St. or at available on-street parking spaces. Additionally, the City Hall overflow lot located at 100 Hamilton Place (behind A-Net’s Bridal and Johnson’s Boucaniere) is available for public parking.
Provisional parking arrangements have been made for employees working in the Parish Courthouse who previously parked in the Buchanan Street Garage.
