Prairie Elementary School is getting the whole family involved in its annual Turkey Trot.
Students were joined by family members in walking around the track and playing outdoor games during their P.E. time.
The event is put on every year to teach everyone the importance of being physically active.
“The kids love it. The kids love to have their parents or aunts, uncles, grandmas, granddaddies here with them and running on the track,” said Meg Soprano, P.E. teacher at Prairie Elementary. “And then once they finish their required laps, then they get to play with them. So they think it’s neat to bring them into their own P.E. class and see what we do everyday so they can have a part of it too.”
