Those living in Lafayette Parish are learning more about the new flood maps.
Tonight, the public was invited to the Southside High School cafeteria to get their questions answered about the new maps for the parish.
Representatives from FEMA, the State of Louisiana, along with parish and local officials, were in attendance.
“I think it’s important for people to understand the purpose of having flood insurance and also to truly understand what each one of the flood zones means to them, said Pamela Granger, a city engineer for the City of Youngsville.
