Police: Suspects responsible for multiple armed robberies arrested

Two suspects were arrested for multiple armed robberies in Lafayette.

On October 23, 2018, at 3:15 pm Lafayette Police was dispatched to a local motel in reference to an armed robbery in progress in the 2100 block of NW Evangeline Thruway. Officers were able to apprehend two suspects seen fleeing the location, according to Cpl. Bridgette Dugas. Zackary Constantine, 24 of Lafayette and a 16-year-old female were arrested. An undisclosed amount of money was taken during the robbery.

After further investigation, the pair was found to be responsible for another armed robbery which occurred on October 7, 2018, at a local business in the 1200 block of the NE Evangeline Thwy. as well as an attempted armed robbery on October 10, 2018, from a local gas station in the 1200 block of the NW Evangeline Thruway.

Constantine was arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of principal to attempted armed robbery, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, two counts of convicted felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of armed robbery with a firearm and resisting an officer.

The 16-year-old female was arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery.
