Halloween came a little bit early for some Lafayette kids.

Today, New Day Community Outreach held a screening at the Grand 16 of the Avengers: Infinity Wars movie. Kids were asked to dress up as their favorite superheroes, and they got to play some games and do some trick or treating.

New Day provides resources and activities for kids and the elderly, and today’s ticket sales help fund the group’s annual Prom Dress Give Away.

Local author Sean Palador was on hand to talk to kids about his book, What’s your kick?, said Kishara Angelety of New Day.

“Basically he’s going to be talking to kids about following whatever their passion is and not giving up,” she said. “Just like the superheroes, they’re passionate about what they do and they don’t give up and we don’t want the kids giving up either.”
