Lafayette grand jury hands up indictments

A Lafayette Parish grand jury indicted five men Wednesday on various sex charges and one on attempted murder charges.

Robert Taylor, 58, of Lafayette, is accused of attempted first degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated second degree battery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and aggravated assault. He’s accused in connection with a May 2018 incident.

Clayton Johnson, 38, of Scott, is accused of two counts of sexual battery and 11 counts of video voyeurism.

Jaleel Kelly, 25, of Lafayette, is accused of one count of aggravated rape of a juvenile.

Anthony Taylor, 33, of Duson, is accused of three counts of first degree rape, one count of attempted first degree rape, and three counts of sexual batter of a juvenile. Taylor is currently in jail on a $150,000 bond.

Dominick Manuel, 24, of Lafayette, is accused of third degree rape.

Jules Joiner, 48, of Lafayette, is accused of first degree rape and false imprisonment with a dangerous weapon.

Warrants have been issued for all of the indicted.
