Lafayette Police are investigating a crash involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist near the intersection of Guilbeau and Johnston.
The accident happened shortly before 8 p.m. in the 100 block of Guilbeau Road, near its intersection with Johnston Street, a police spokesman said.
The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries, he said.
Impairment was not a factor in the crash, police say. The circumstances of the crash are currently under investigation, police say.
