A spokesperson for Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux says that he has chosen an appointee to the library board.

Robideaux has selected Hilda Edmond to fill a spot on the board after the former president of the Lafayette Library Board of Control Joseph Gordon-Wiltz resigned in August.

Edmond is currently employed with LCG as the Chief Right of Way Agent. Robideaux’s appointee had to be selected from within LCG, Cydra Wingerter, a spokesperson for Robideaux told KATC.

The library board will now vote for who the new president of the control board will be. Edmond does not automatically become board president, she is only an appointed member unless voted to fill that position.
