Today, crews with LUS are heading to North Carolina to provide support and assistance as Hurricane Florence approaches.

The company says that thirteen members of their team are heading to High Point, North Carolina, just southwest of Greensboro, to provide assistance to crews once the storm has passed. The fleet of vehicles, which included two bucket trucks, left this morning from Lafayette.

The crews will be working directly with ElectriCities of North Carolina to assist in bringing power back to the state after Florence has passed.

Hurricane Florence is expected to make landfall as a Category 4 storm along the Carolina coast sometime on Friday.

Other emergency response crews from Louisiana have already made the trip to the Carolina coast ahead of Florence’s arrival. Teams with GOSHEP and the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office left on Tuesday to lend assistance to the area.
