The Lafayette Police Department says three men have been arrested in connection with a Wednesday morning shooting in Lafayette.

The shooting injured one person early Wednesday morning in the 100 block of Carlton Drive.

Police say 18-year-old Carneil Edmond sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound during what police are calling a “trespassing incident.” Edmond and another suspect, 19-year-old Tiage Hudson, were arrested and booked on charges of Criminal Trespass.

Another man, identified as 54-year-old John Broussard, was arrested and booked on charges of aggravated second-degree battery with a firearm in connection with the shooting incident. Broussard is also facing charges of obstruction of justice, illegal possession of a firearm, and possession of schedule I.

An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
