Police investigating two scenes in connection with Scott shooting

Scott police say they are still investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday morning in Scott.

Police confirmed they are currently investigating a second scene on Delhomme Street and Marina Loop in Scott in connection with the incident. The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office says that a resource officer at a nearby school heard shots and alerted police which led to the investigation.

The Scott Police department closed the I-10 Scott exit and the Hwy 93 roundabout this morning as a part of the incident. Motorists are asked to avoid the area while police investigate.

LPSO did not confirm whether anyone had been taken into custody

Police did not give details on the time or place where the shooting initially began. Two scenes are currently being investigated.

LPSS CAO Joe Craig says that students at Westside and L Leo Judice Elementary School were placed on lockdown as a precaution. That lockdown has since been lifted. There was no immediate threat to students.
