Tomorrow marks the end of the petition to recall Lafayette City Marshal Brian Pope.
The committee leading the petition says they fell short of the first phase of their plan but will continue their efforts.
In the latest from their campaign, organizers say Pope is preventing the release of the attorney general’s opinion concerning his supplementation to his salary with city funds.
They say he’s using the funds to pay for the criminal defense case for his seven felony charges.
Pope’s attorney declined to comment.
