The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office says that the suspect wanted for murder following a shooting Friday has been arrested in New York.
Deputies says that 33-year-old Kristian Broussard was arrested in Middletown New York.
The New York State Police along with the United States Marshals and the City of Middletown Police Department were searching for Broussard. He was believed to be in the company of 30-year-old Ursula Bourque after they were confirmed to be in the Middletown, NY area on January 8, 2019.
Broussard is accused of shooting 38-year-old Richard Southern several times during an argument. Southern died a short time later.
The shooting happened at a home on Leonce Theriot Road off of Highway 14.
Bourque is being questioned by police, according to reports. Police will be updating on Broussard’s arrested later on Wednesday.
