Officials have identified the teenager who died following a shooting early Friday morning.
The Iberia Parish Coroner’s office says 16-year-old Devon Sutton died Friday from a gunshot wound after a shooting on St. Jude Avenue.
A spokesman with New Iberia police says Jeyohn Mikelle Augustine allegedly shot Sutton through a window of a home on St. Jude Avenue between St. John and St. Mary streets.
Augustine was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on a charge of first-degree murder. His bond was set at $1 million.
