A longtime county agricultural agent in Iberia Parish will be receiving honoring his lifetime work.

Dr. Charles Miller received a plaque honoring his lifetime of work in the agriculture and sugar cane industry. That plaque, organizers say, is to remain hanging in the Festival Building forever.

At 94 years old, he was County Agricultural agent in Iberia Parish for decades and inducted into the 4-H Louisiana Hall of Fame in 2008.

Miller started his involvement in 4-H as a member in the 1930s. His career as a 4-H agent began in 1948, and he retired in 1993. Organizers say that he remains an avid 4-H supporter.
