Iberia Parish firefighters deemed a blood drive they hosted for a fellow firefighter a success after surpassing their goal of 100 donors.
The blood drive was held in New Iberia on Saturday for Captain Seth Champagne who was diagnosed with leukemia.
Those who showed up to donated were treated to grilled sausage, shrimp stew and some sweet treats.
There was also a fun jump for the kids.
According to a Facebook page set up by the department, they will be hosting a CrossFit competition next weekend. For more information on the event and Champagne’s journey, click here .
