JEANERETTE, LA – More counterfeit money is surfacing in Jeanerette. According to the Jeanerette City Marshal’s office, this round of money is getting harder to detect because the fake $100 bills are passing the pen test. A local insurance company and a convenient store on Main Street both received counterfeit bills. Employees for both companies used a pen to test the money before it was deposited at the bank, but bank employees discovered the money was fake following a light test.
