School receives grant to replace books, technology following flood

Mamou Elementary school is getting some help with library renovations after it was destroyed during recent flooding.

The school received a $15,000 grant to replace all of its books and technology.

School librarians say they are thankful that people are stepping up to help educate the people of our future.

“This means the world because they will have at their fingertips, books and supplies,” said Janice Veillon, librarian at Mamou Elementary. “They will have a beautiful place to learn; they will have an atmosphere that shows how much that Dollar General and the world appreciates them.”
