A Lake Charles man has been arrested accused of shooting someone in the leg during an armed robbery.
Police say they have arrested 20-year-old Jacobi Taylor and booked him with aggravated 2nd degree battery, armed robbery, and armed robbery with a firearm in connection with an incident on Saturday January 23, 2019.
Around 6:00 p.m. police were notified about a victim being brought to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
An investigation revealed the victim was in the process of being robbed at gun point of personal property when he and Taylor allegedly began to fight over a gun. During the struggle, which occurred on the 1000 block of Belden Street, the victim was shot. After being shot, the victim was brought to a local hospital.
Taylor allegedly fled the scene.
The investigation is continuing and further arrests are possible.
