A local boxer was arrested Sunday following a complaint earlier this month related to domestic abuse
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson, a complaint was filed on January 4, 2019 regarding a disturbance in the 5000 block of the Mire Highway.
During the investigation, the woman who made the complaint stated that she and her babysitter were attempting to exchange custody of her child with the child’s father, identified as Mason Menard of Mire
During this exchange, Menard is accused of striking the the woman. She received minor injuries and reported the incident.
According to Gibson, Menard was unable to be located on the date of the incident. He was arrested Sunday and booked into the Acadia Parish Jail for domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.
Menard is a professional boxer.
