Crowley Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting on North Avenue I on Tuesday that injured one.
Police say they have arrested 26-year-old Christopher Beverly of Crowley in reference to a shooting that occurred in the 1700 block of North Avenue I in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 23, 2018.
Officials say that Beverly allegedly entered the residence of his former girlfriend and mother of his children, at which time Beverly fired two rounds, approximately five feet above where one of the children were sleeping at the time.
Beverly then allegedly fought with his former girlfriend, and then shot the victim.
The victim was transported to Lafayette General Hospital, where he was treated for the gunshot wound and released later.
Beverly has been charged with home invasion, domestic abuse battery, attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated assault with a firearm.
Beverly was transported to the Acadia Parish Jail under a $550,000 bond.
