The investigation is continuing into a home invasion that happened yesterday, Crowley Chief Jimmy Broussard said.

The victim in the home invasion is recuperating, he said. The home invasion happened yesterday, and police K-9 tracked the suspects – they believe there are two – from the victim’s home to a trailer.

Police surrounded the trailer, but when they entered it was empty. Broussard said the suspects probably fled before Police even arrived.

Detectives have interviewed some witnesses, and plan to use photo line-ups to identify suspects, he said.

Detectives suspect the victim was targeted because she had a known routine, Broussard said.

Because of that, he urges residents to try to avoid routines.

“Don’t do the same thing every day, change up your pattern, where you walk, how you do things,” the chief said. “If you have the same pattern, it can make you a target.”
