Three arrested after investigation into stolen property

Three people were arrested by the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office after an investigation into stolen property.

Deputies say that a search warrant was executed by the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office in the 7200 block of Church Point Highway in Branch on Wednesday in regards to stolen property.

Officials say that a search of the property uncovered a 2002 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, firearms including a sawed-off shotgun and 15 grams of Methamphetamine.

Arrested in connection with the theft were 41-year-old Heath Habetz of Rayne, 34-year-old Gerry Lasseigne, Jr. of Carencro, and 34-year-old Cassie Granger of Lafayette.

Habetz was arrested and booked on charges of possession of Methamphetamine, 2 counts of a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property.

Lasseigne, Jr was arrested and booked on a charge of possession of stolen property and Granger on a charge of convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
