The International Rice Festival has announced the entertainment lineup for this year’s festival to be held October 18-21, 2018.

This is the 82nd year of the free event.

Music begins on the Thursday evening, with two sound stages to provide entertainment as well as festival events such as a rice eating and fiddle and accordion contests, the crowning of the International Rice Festival Queen and more.

Festival favorites Wayne Toups, Jamie Bergeron and Category 6 will be making appearances again this year. In addition, a few new acts will be taking the stage such as Gyth Rigdon, Glen Templeton and The Fleurtations.

“We are very excited about the lineup this year. Our goal was to offer a variety of music for festival goers and I think we did that this year,” says Chad Monceaux, 2018 Festival Chairman.

The poster will be released soon, Monceaux said.
