Almost every parish in Acadiana is anticipating the severe weather heading to the area. Below is a list of parishes where schools have announced closures or late start times Wednesday. All closures/late starts will be for Thursday, November 1, 2018.
Iberia Parish
Iberia Parish public schools will be closed Thursday in anticipation for severe weather. 12-month employees should report to work at 9:00 a.m.
Other Iberia Parish school closures include:
Catholic High in New Iberia will have a late start to school tomorrow morning. Take-in will begin at 8:50 a.m. with first period starting at 9:00 a.m.
Highland Baptist Christian School
Assembly Christian School in New Iberia
All CDI Head Start programs in Lafayette, Iberia and St. Martin parishes will be closed tomorrow.
Vermilion Parish
Vermilion Parish public schools will be closed Thursday in anticipation for severe weather.
Other school closures/late starts in Vermilion Parish:
All Vermilion Parish Head Start Centers and Central Offices will close on November 1, 2018.
Mount Carmel and Vermilion Catholic will have a late start of 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning and dismissal will take place at the regular time.
St. Landry Parish
St. Landry Parish public schools will be delaying the start time of school by an hour. Dismissal will be at the normal time.
Both campuses of Westminster Christian Academy will be closed tomorrow.
Opelousas Catholic will start classes at 8:35 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1. Dismissal will be at normal time.
The Academy of the Sacred Heart and Berchmans Academy will start the school day at 10:00 a.m. Buses will run according to their normal routes but will depart two hours later than regularly scheduled.
Word Ministries Christian Academy in Eunice will be closed tomorrow.
St. Mary Parish
St. Mary Parish public schools and offices will be closed on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Private and charter schools will also be closed, according to officials with the St. Mary Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness.

St. Martin Parish
All St. Martin Parish public schools will be closed on Thursday, November 1, 2018. All 12-month employees are to report when weather permits.

All CDI Head Start programs in Lafayette, Iberia and St. Martin parishes will be closed tomorrow.

Lafayette Parish
Lafayette Parish public schools will be closed Thursday in anticipation for severe weather.
The LPSS central office also will be closed tomorrow. LPSS officials say that the decision was made because of the threat of anticipated severe weather and possibly local flooding as school buses begin bringing students to schools.
All Catholic schools in Lafayette Parish will be closed tomorrow.

All three campuses of Ascension Episcopal School will be closed tomorrow. In addition, all parent/teacher conferences will be canceled and rescheduled for a later date.
First Years Early Childhood school will have a late start on Thursday. Students are to arrive at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
All CDI Head Start programs in Lafayette, Iberia and St. Martin parishes will be closed tomorrow.
