UPDATE: Lafayette Police say they are looking for the driver of a vehicle wanted in connection to a pedestrian hit -and-run Monday evening on West Congress.

Officials say that the victim in the crash is in stable condition.

The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. Monday on West Congress near the intersection of Winchester Road.

No arrests or citations have been made in case. Lafayette Police spokeswoman Bridgette Dugas tells KATC that the vehicle in this case, a white Toyota Camry, fled the scene following the crash. That vehicle was located several blocks away and was abandoned.

Police are searching for the driver of that vehicle.

One person, the pedestrian, was taken to the hospital.
