A Facebook group is looking to shower 2020 seniors with love and gifts as graduation plans are changing.

The group, called Greater Acadiana Area Adopt a Senior 2020, is asking local businesses and others to "adopt" a senior or two and pledge to send them letters, cards, gifts, or even snacks. Organizers hope it will let Acadiana seniors know the community is cheering for them.

The group's creator says the love and gifts can help seniors during this difficult time.

"I'm already seeing so much gratitude and so much love that's pouring into this group for these children," explained creator Amanda Hunt. "It's, you know, some are saying they haven't smiled in weeks and this is giving them so much to be excited about."

There is also a group specifically for Lafayette seniors. Click HERE for that story.
