UPDATE: The Acadia Parish Police Jury held committee meetings tonight and did not discuss some things as planned.

A juror said that the proposed revision to the parish ambulance ordinance was taken off of tonight's ambulance committee agenda because officials had to look into some issues with the revision and ordinance.

At this time, it is unknown when the revisions will be discussed.

The ambulance ordinance would add fines for companies that don't notify dispatchers when they roll calls.

When there's more than one ambulance company operating in an area, they may sometimes "roll calls," or pass on a call for help, to each other based on availability.

The finance committee reviewed the 2020 budget tonight. The proposed budget will be presented at next week's regular Jury meeting for the members to review and vote on.

Tonight's agenda also included a presentation by demographer Mike Hefner about possible district changes in advance of the 2020 census.

Next week's meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 12 at the Police Jury Meeting Room in the Courthouse Building in Crowley.
