There is a new way to pay for parking tickets in Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas City Council adopted an ordinance that will allow parking tickets to be paid with school supplies. The program is currently underway and will end July 19, 2019, according to a news release from the council. The city will collect the supplies and donate them to local non-profit Teachers Exchanges.
This is how the program works: If you receive a parking ticket you may bring new, unwrapped school supplies of equal or greater value of the fine to the Parking Services Office. This must be done within 30 days of the citation date and a purchase receipt for the donation is required.
