Police have arrested an Opelousas man in connection with an attempted vehicle burglary caught on surveillance video.
18-year-old Korey Ward was arrested after officers identified him as the suspect captured on video attempting to open car doors in the 900 block of Heather Drive in Opelousas.
After obtaining video of the attempted burglary, officers made contact with Ward in the area of Jasmine and John Ave.
Police say Ward was also wanted by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office for the burglary of a law enforcement officers unit.
Ward was arrested and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on the following charges:
- Attempted Burglary (Auto)
- Criminal Trespassing
