Over 30 weapons reported stolen from a Rayne business in 2002 have been recovered from an Acadia Parish waterway.
Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson says that deputies uncovered the property after receiving information on their whereabouts during a recent investigation.
The weapons were reported stolen from the business in 2002 and Gibson says that several years of investigating leads turned up empty-handed.
Over 30 weapons were found discarded in the water near the Pontoon Bridge near Estherwood.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Dive team assisted with the recovery efforts.
