USPS reveals stamps featuring Sesame Street, T. Rex, and Halloween designs

The U.S. Postal Service has unveiled three additional stamps to be released this year featuring Sesame Street characters, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Halloween themed designs.

The Postal Services says that the stamps will all be making their debut sometime in 2019.

The Sesame Street stamps will feature 16 Muppets from the long-running PBS television series. Favorites like Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch are among the characters making an appearance. The tv series is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019. An issue date has not been announced for the stamps.

Heading into the prehistoric, stamps featuring the titan of the Cretaceous Period, Tyrannosaurus Rex, will also make their debut in 2019. The illustrations, created by scientist and paleoartist Julius T. Csotonyi, include images from the life of the “king of the tyrant

lizards.” The first-day-of-issue for the T. Rex stamps is June 28. A dedication ceremony will take place in Washington, D.C.

Also to debut this year, “Spooky Silhouettes.” The stamps will offer “fun, frightful scenes that symbolize [the] annual celebration” of Halloween. The issue date has not been announced.
