Thousands of 10th graders across Acadiana got a better look at what the future has in store for them.

Students from  Lafayette, Iberia, St. Martin and Vermilion Parishes took part in the annual Career Connections Expo to learn more about potential job opportunities. The Expo connected students to local companies as they discovered what education and training their ideal occupation will require.

There was also a Reality Store where they could compare career salaries with other living expenses.

“It’s been sustainable over the last 20 years through the support of our wonderful communities, our business communities, the United Way, our volunteers and everyone who has worked tirelessly to put this project on because they know how important it is for kids to invest in their futures,” said Debbie Burkheiser, Coordinator, Career Connections.
