The ASSIST Agency, Inc. will be helping low to moderate-income individuals and families with tax preparation in 2019.
The services will begin on January 22, 2019. Walk-ins will be seen on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Appointments will be seen on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning January 23 and are now being scheduled. To make an appointment, please call the Acadia Parish office – 337-788-7550 x 138 or the Vermilion Parish office at 337-898-9554.
The ASSIST Agency asks that all those looking receive help with tax preparation to have all the necessary documents including IDs for all adults in the household and Social Security cards for all members of the household. They also asks for all applicable documents necessary for completing a return.
If the federal government shut-down still be in effect, ASSIST be able to prepare returns. As soon as the Internal Revenue Service begins accepting returns, ASSIST will forward the returns.
*The Agency is a United Way of Acadiana VITA Tax preparation site. The ASSIST’s tax preparers are trained by the IRS and can file both Federal and State returns electronically.
