Opelousas Chief of Police Martin McClendon says his department is still actively investigating a shooting that left one person injured Friday evening.
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. on W South Street near S Bullard Street.
The male victim was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery. He is expected to be okay, Chief McClendon says.
No arrests have been made, but the chief says they are looking at a possible suspect who they believe may be on the run.
The identity of the person of interest is not being released at this time.
